PCO Materials - Doorhangers PCO Dina Johnson has produced a doorhanger which any Precinct Committee Officer in the District can use to create their own personalized message and hang it on the door of homes they visit while walking their precinct. This web page contains instructions and links to the documents necessary to product the personalized doorhanger. If you wish, you can view and print a sheet with the instructions here.
The image on the left shows a blank doorhanger (click on the image to enlarge it). The blank doorhanger has a space to place a card which you can make with your personal information.
Instructions: First, download a PDF document which contains two blank doorhangers, side-by-side. Click here for that document. Print it on cardstock (heavier weight paper such as brochure and flyer paper). Cut out the doorhangers with a mat knife or paper cutter.
Punch a hole in the top of the card and thread a rubber band, ribbon or string through the top for hanging the card.
Next, make your personal business cards. Download a Word document which is a template for printing business cards. Add a photo of yourself to each card as shown in the sample doorhanger to the right (click on the image to enlarge it). Also change the information on each business card to your own personal information, e.g. e-mail address, phone number and precinct. Print the business cards on business card paper such as Arvey #8371 Inkjet Business Cards, 10 to a sheet. Cut the business cards.
Finally, affix one business card to each doorhanger using double-sided tape. Sign the doorhanger in the space provided. You can use the back of the doorhanger to write a personal message to each voter if you wish, or you could print such messages on mailing labels and stick those to the back of the card.
