Organization of the Democratic Party
The Washington State Democratic Party is organized by Legislative
District. The 34th Legislative District consists of Vashon Island,
part of the City of Burien, the West Seattle area of the City of
Seattle, and part of King County between Seattle and Burien. See
district map and also the maps page for boundaries of districts
for many of our elected officials. The 34th District Democratic
organization consists of all precinct committee officers (PCO's)
and dues-paying members in the district. The organization is governed
by formal by-laws. For some district organization decisions and
offices, only precinct committee officers (PCO's) may vote. The
district has a group of officers who are elected every two years.
The next election of officers in January, 2005.

King County Democratic Central Committee
The 16 Legislative Districts in King County coordinate their
efforts through the King County Democratic Central Committee (KCDCC),
also called the King County Democrats. Each District sends two representatives
to the KCDCC monthly meeting. This representative body coordinates
the Democratic effort countywide, screens prospective candidates,
and endorses candidates and measures. See www.kcdems.org
