Updated October 5, 2006 30 Days and it is Election 2006!
This Saturday is the 30-day mark before the election and time to get really serious about
re-electing Maria Cantwell and making sure that I-933 doesn't blunder through
because people don't understand what it really means. The Coordinated Campaign will be
having a Get Out The Vote Training this Saturday, October 7, at 10:00 at the campaign
office at 1848 Westlake North, on Lake Union, a couple of doors down from the China Harbor
Restaurant. It should be easy to find - just follow the Cantwell signs. The training will
last around an hour and will tell you what you need to know to get out there and start
canvassing. There will be sign-up sheets for specific dates for phone calling and canvassing.
After the training, some of you might stay to make phone calls and some might start
canvassing. Of course, if you want to come for just the training, that's okay too.
And most important, there'll be coffee and FOOD! John Ehrman is the Field Organizer
for the 34th District. If you have any questions or plan on attending, please call
him at 206-310-6024.

Updated October 3, 2006 October 11th District Meeting: Endorsements, Fish, and Islands
At our October 11th meeting we will consider endorsing more races and initiatives -
see this month's message from Chair Ivan Weiss. Also see our meeting agenda page for the agenda, to include consideration of endorsements for Seattle Proposition #1 "Bridging the Gap", the King County "Transit Now" initiative, and a resolution on saving Wild Salmon. We'll also hear from Laura Hendricks about the alarming expansion of shellfish farming in the South Sound, and from J. W. Turner about the steady mining away of Maury Island. To prepare for the meeting, download the October newsletter, read the September meeting minutes and get your body to the Hall at Fauntleroy (along with a potluck dish to share).
Updated October 3, 2006
On to the General Election!
We've had a successful primary election on September 19th. Two of three
Supreme Court Justices have been re-elected, defeating an ugly, well-financed
campaign by regressive forces in the State. The General Election on November 7th will
see crucial races such as the re-election of Senator Maria Cantwell. And a wide variety
of initiatives will be on the ballot. We've made endorsements on many of the races and
initiatives, but a few ballot measures are just now making it to the ballot. See all our
recommendations on the endorsement page,
or download a sample primary
ballot. See the King County Elections
website for tons of election information. Do you need signs or material, or can you volunteer to help with the fall
campaign? Contact John Ehrman via e-mail or at 206-352-3963. John is with the Washington State Democrats' coordinated campaign.

the Yakima Herald has endorsed Tomas over the long-time Republican incumbent! Access to Education,
Affordable Health Care, Real Immigration Reform and Family Wage Jobs are all impacted by
votes our legislators take in Olympia. Help send a true representative for the 15th District
