At the November meeting we approved four new PCOs: Amy Lee Derenthal Seattle Precinct 1540, Artemis OakGrove Seattle Precinct 1476, Charles Torrey - Colvos Precinct, and Kimber McCreary Seattle Precinct 1470.
We heard from new State Representative Sharon Nelson and we passed a new set of by-laws. See all the details and some photos on the November meeting minutes page.

Updated November 7, 2007 Sharon Nelson Appointed as new State Representative
Sharon Nelson is our new 34th District State Representative! Judge Mary Lu administered the Oath of Office to Sharon on Monday, November 5th, after the King County Council appointed her to the job upon the recommendation of the PCO's of the 34th District. See the special page with more photos of her appointment. Sharon's top priorities as a new legislator will be the environment, transportation and education. Updated November 2, 2007 PCOs Recommend Sharon Nelson for State Representative
34th District Precinct
Committee Officers, meeting at the Hall at Fauntleroy on Thursday, November 1st, recommended Sharon Nelson for appointment as State Representative,
Position 2, which became open when Joe McDermott was appointed State Senator on October
15th. The PCO's, convened by King County Democrats's chair Susan Sheary,
voted in two ballots and also recommended Toni Lysen and Greg Doss as
second and third candidates for the position. The King County Council will make the final
decision on the appointment, perhaps as early as November 5th. Nelson is an accomplished, successful community activist, especially active with environmental issues on Vashon Island. More information on her background is here. More details and photos of the Nov. 1st PCO meeting are

Poised For Action
No one can say that the 34th District Democrats aren't poised for action for the 2008 election.
Membership is at an all-time high, Precinct Committee Officer recruitment is at an all-time high, and we hope to add more PCOs this month and thereafter.
We have our caucus locations for February 9 lined up, and preparation is under way, not only to select our delegates, ...
Thu, November 1, 2007 PCO Meeting to Nominate Democrats for State Representative
Precinct Committee Officers meet to nominate three Democrats for appointment to the position of State Representative, Position 2, vacated by the resignation of Joe McDermott on October 15th. All eligible PCOs will receive an Official Call in the paper mail.
