Updated December 6, 2006 December 13 Holiday Party
Our Annual 34th District Holiday Party is Wednesday, December 13th in the back (Vashon)
room of the Hall at Fauntleroy. We set up at 6:00 PM, with dinner at 7:00 PM. It's a potluck - see the Chair's message below for more information. Also, the holidays are hard for some among us. If you can, please bring
a gift those being helped by the West Seattle Helpline. Toys are always welcome. Teenagers
appreciate gift cards from stores like Target and Hollywood video. If you wrap your gift,
please plut a tag on it describing what it is.

Updated December 6, 2006 What a Year - and the Best is Yet to Come!
Message from 34th District Chair Ivan Weiss
What a year - and the best is yet to come! The election is over, and we have a lot to
be proud of. Now let's kick back and enjoy the holidays.
The annual 34th District Holiday Party will be on the second Wednesday as usual,
December 13, at the Hall at Fauntleroy. We'll set up starting at 6 PM and begin
serving food at 7.
There will be no call to order, no flag salute, no business, no resolutions,
just food and drink and good fellowship. At 7:30 we'll be treated to a performance
of Mexican folk dancing by a group of young dancers from the White Center area,
who will be our guests for the evening.
Please bring your favorite main dish, side dish, beverage, salad, baked goods,
desserts, whatever. Surprise us! We have always been successful with a total
pot luck format, and no one has gone away unsatisfied yet.
It's the perfect opportunity for members to bring friends or relatives who you
think might be interested in being our members. Building our membership will be
everybody's business as we work to gain strength for the 2008 election, when we will
take back the White House and re-elect Governor Gregoire in Olympia.
We'll be looking to fill every precinct with a precinct committee officer, and
to get the 34th District Democrats more involved in community groups and
neighborhood affairs. All politics is local at its root, and we can't expect to
solve the problems of the world if we can't be good, effective neighbors in our
own back yard.
But that's all for next year. For now, let's celebrate. All year we have been
there for the Party. This month, let's just be there for the party.
See you on Wednesday, December 13, for all the festivities you can handle. Peace on
earth and goodwill toward all. Ivan Weiss, Chair, 34th District Democrats
